worked with mixed media combing oil, paste, metal solution, oxidation medium and collage on jute canvas. This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This painting is part of the series “New Species”. What we buy, consume, create, use and discard leaves a trace of who we are. In this painting, Sarah created a collage of scraps that she collected over the years, thereby capturing pieces of memories. Above the collage and paste, she painted colorful particles of paint strokes that represent particles of plastics scattered in the ground.
Sarah Richani´s paintings from this series portray how our contemporary landscapes are being consumed by waste. These products of modern man’s influence have become part of our ecosystem, almost living among us as a ‘new species’.
In her artworks, Sarah uses bright colors and comical elements to trigger happy emotions. But once the viewer realizes the content displayed, it pushes the viewer to process the image and contemplate.
Her oil paintings contain collages of various materials, paste, oxidation solutions to create the effects of withering along with raw, messy appearing layers and dripping effects.
